Although the World Running League is full, people can still sign up to be on the waiting list. If someone drops out or is released at some point through the season, I will look to the runners on the waiting list to replace him/her. Also, if a substitute is needed by a team (see below for rules about substitution) then one will be chosen from the waiting list.

Note: Despite the name, the World Running League is open for both walkers and runners.

Note 2: It is EXTREMELY important that your profile is public!! please follow these instructions to make sure that your profile is public:
1) Go to http://nikerunning.nike.com/nikeos/p/nikeplus/en_US/plus/#//dashboard/ and log in.
2) In the navigation bar on the left, place your mouse pointer over your profile picture.
3) Now click on "View My Profile"
4) Three tabs should now appear: "Profile", "Friends" and "Settings"
5) Click on the "Settings" tab.
6) Right below the tabs, several links should appear. Click on the link "Privacy Settings"
7) Now select "SHARE MY PROFILE AND MORE OF MY NIKE ACTIVITY" and click "Save Updates"

The World Running League is a running league in which 20 teams with 3 members on each team compete for 8 weeks. Each week, all the teams will play one match (a most miles challenge running from Wednesday through Friday) against another team. The winning team will receive 3 points and the losing team will receive 0 points. If there is a draw (both teams are within 1 mile of each other), then each team will be awarded with 1 point apiece. At the end of the season, the top 8 teams (decided by the number of points that they have) will continue onto the playoffs. If there is a tie between the teams, their total mileage throughout the season will be looked at to decide the winners. The playoffs will be done elimination style and the final 2 teams will advance to the Super Runner Bowl. There the two teams will compete in a one week long most-mileage battle to decide the winner of the World Running League. After the Super Runner Bowl is complete, the Pro Runner Bowl will take place. The Pro Runner Bowl is a contest between the top 10 runners in the WRL. Unlike previous matches, the runners will be competing individually. The Pro Runner Bowl is a series of different challenges ranging from most during the week, to the fastest mile. More details about the specific challenges will follow as the Pro Runner Bowl approaches. Here are the rules:

- No complaining
- If you suspect someone of cheating, kindly send me a message and I will look into the matter
- The score that I see on the Nikeplus website is the final score. I know that sometimes things get in the way, but the line does have to be drawn.
- No runs that are created will be accepted. If you see that someone has created a run, please report it.
- Profiles MUST be public at all times throughout the season. To check to see if your profile is public, open a new tab in your internet browser and in the navigation bar, type in: http://slowgeek.com/pr/<insert_your_profile_name_here> eg: http://slowgeek.com/pr/Building429 Note that your username is case-sensitive, so make sure to enter it exactly as it is. If you get a message saying that the user is not found, then it means either your profile is private, or you haven't joined any public challenges. If the latter is true, navigate to the challenge gallery on Nikeplus and then join a challenge. Soon your profile should appear on Slowgeek.
- Invites will usually come out the day before the challenge starts, so make sure to be watching for them.
- Each team is only allowed one substitute per season.
- Substitutes will be chosen by myself.
- Substitutes are only allowed in the regular season (not the playoffs, Super Runner Bowl or Pro Runner Bowl)
- If a team member drops out and no substitutes are available, you will be down one person until someone is available.
- If a team member fails to log any miles for 3 weeks, w/o any explanation of any kind, he/she may be removed from the league at the request of a team member. You can do this anonymously. If you fail to log any miles for 3 weeks, w/o a reason, and come back to find yourself removed from the league, you can reapply at any time. Whether or not you can resume your original position or not, is merely determined by whether the place has been filled or not. Priority is given to those who originally had been in the WRL.
Perhaps the MOST important part of the WRL is the website. On the WRL website, I will be posting all the widgets for the matches, statistics for all participants and for teams, news updates and MUCH more! I will also be providing forums that are only viewable by your team. That way you can easily discuss your team plans, without disclosing them to anyone else. Although it is not mandatory that you sign up on the website, it is highly recommended that you do so, as this will enable you to use many of the sites features. The website for the WRL is http://www.worldrunningleague.co.cc

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Waiting List:
-

Note: If you have signed up in the challenge to be on the waiting list, it is quite possible that you have already been assigned to a team. To see if you are already assigned to a team, head on over to the WRL website: http://worldrunningleague.co.cc and go to the Teams page (under the "Information" tab at the top of the site). If you are on neither list, contact me by PM or through the Contact form on the website. Thanks!
